چکیده

The current study focuses on the utilization of Marble Waste Powder (MWP) as a partial substitution cement along with local sand instead microsilica in Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC). aim was to reduce environmental concerns ECC by reducing content without adversely affecting desired properties. Four mixes were evaluated; control mix which has no MWP and three test having replacement 10%, 15%, 20% used, respectively. properties found terms compressive, tensile, flexural characteristics. trend change basic an increased percentage hypothesis experimental data. From this study, it concluded that reduces compressive strength ECC. maximum reduction recorded 49% MWP, compared sample at 91 days age. tensile strain increases increase content, while stress only up specified limit. ultimate load force–deflection curve first certain percentage, upon further from 15% 20%, decreases. suggests do not vary significantly for modified samples containing especially 10% samples, can be utilized normal ECC, thus mitigating compromising ECC’s performance.

Utilization of waste glass as sand replacement in cement mortar

In this study, alkali silica reaction (ASR) expansion and strength characteristics of mortar containing waste glasses are analyzed in terms of waste glass content and glass color. Three different colors of waste glasses (white, green and brown) are replaced with sand at ratios of 10%, 30% and 100% by weight. The mixtures used in this study did not show a considerable ASR expansion. All batches ...

Studies on Glass Powder as Partial Replacement of Cement in Concrete Production

Cement manufacturing industry is one of the carbon dioxide emitting sources besides deforestation and burning of fossil fuels. The global warming is caused by the emission of green house gases, such as CO2, to the atmosphere. Among the greenhouse gases,CO2 contributes about 65% of global warming. The global cement industry contributes about 7% of greenhouse gas emission to the earth’s atmospher...

Experimental Investigation on Glass Powder as Partial Replacement of Cement for M - 30 Concrete

Glass is needed in several forms in today’s life. Its life is limited, and after use it is either stored into sharp edged or sent to landfills. As we know glass is non-biodegradable, landfills does not recommend any environment friendly solution. In India as a most developing country, facing shortage of post consumer’s disposal waste site and it’s become very serious problems. Hence, there is s...

Prediction of Engineered Cementitious Composite Material Properties Using Artificial Neural Network

Cement-based composite materials like Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECCs) are applicable in the strengthening of structures because of the high tensile strength and strain. Proper mix proportion, which has the best mechanical properties, is so essential in ECC design material to use in structural components. In this paper, after finding the best mix proportion based on uniaxial tensile st...

Polymer-Cement Composites Containing Waste Perlite Powder

Polymer-cement composites (PCCs) are materials in which the polymer and mineral binder create an interpenetrating network and co-operate, significantly improving the performance of the material. On the other hand, the need for the utilization of waste materials is a demand of sustainable construction. Various mineral powders, such as fly ash or blast-furnace slag, are successfully used for the ...
